G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 Heavy-Duty Process Pumps

The G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 family is positioned for paper-stock and heavy-duty process-pump duties. The current reviewed source provides S, M, L and XL group dimensions, nozzle sizes and pump weights; it does not yet provide separate hydraulic curves, construction details or confirmed performance ranges for each model.

These values summarize the dimensional source table. They are not hydraulic performance limits. Final selection requires approved curves and model-specific technical data.

G 3175, 3180 and 3185 Models

The source presents G 3175, 3180 and 3185 as one heavy-duty programme documented by a shared dimensional record: S, M, L and XL groups, discharge and suction sizes, outline dimensions and per-size pump weights from 3×6-12 to 20×20-25. What it does not yet provide is a separate hydraulic or construction record for each designation — and this page states that plainly rather than dressing inferred data up as a specification, because a heavy-duty selection built on inference fails at the review stage anyway. Model-specific curves, drawings and construction details are supplied against a reviewed enquiry.

Enquiry path

G 3180 / 3185 Designations

No independently verified hydraulic or design distinction for these designations exists in the current source, so no thin standalone pages are published. Enquiries naming 3180 or 3185 are reviewed through this series page — send the duty point and any existing-pump evidence with the RFQ below.

Series Positioning

Two duty patterns define the family, and they demand different data from an enquiry. What they share is that neither behaves like clean-liquid chemical transfer: paper stock and heavy slurry-type services change how a centrifugal pump generates head, how the wet end wears and how much operating margin a selection needs — which is why this family runs as its own programme beside the ANSI B73.1 chemical families rather than as a bigger size of them.

Paper-stock service

Stock combines fibres, entrained air, changing consistency and abrasive contaminants. Air content degrades the head a centrifugal pump can generate, fibre length and consistency set passage requirements, and contaminants set the wear pattern. A clean-water curve is a reference at best, so a stock enquiry states the consistency range, fibre description, air content, temperature and contaminants — the wet-end passages and hydraulic route are then matched to the service during review.

Heavy-duty process service

The HH / heavy-duty position covers high-volume process services beyond the paper machine, up to the 20×20-25 size with published pump weights to 2,913 lb. The position is a starting point, not a selection: flow, head, liquid properties, solids and suction conditions are reviewed against model-specific data before a size — or the family itself — is confirmed.

Group and Size Coverage

G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 size codes read discharge × suction followed by a size-class number from 12 to 25: an 8×10-14E discharges through 8 in and takes suction at 10 in — the discharge and suction figures are nozzle sizes in inches, recorded per designation in the source — and a letter suffix (E) marks a variant recorded in the source, so confirm the exact designation during review. The S, M, L and XL groups organise the size list dimensionally: sizes in a group share closely related mounting values in the source record, so the group frames baseplate and installation questions while hydraulic behaviour remains size-specific. Most sizes carry the Figure A outline; the two Figure B sizes (14×14-16E and 16×18-22E) record an additional Z dimension against a different outline.

D, X, Z, B, A and SP are reproduced from the source sheet, which does not state their dimensional unit — confirm values against the approved model drawing before any installation use. Read the list as dimensional coverage, not hydraulic commitment: which size serves a duty point is decided on the model-specific curve during review.

Materials, Seals and Construction

Two things are true at once, and this section keeps them separate. YSM’s manufacturing base carries a wide wet-end material capability — the foundry and machining programme behind all families runs sand, lost-foam and V-process casting with dynamic balancing of every impeller and pressure testing of every casing, in materials from WCB and 316SS/CF8M through CD4MCu duplex and Alloy 20/CN7M to Hastelloy B and C, Nickel, Titanium and a Zirconium alloy. At the same time, the current heavy-duty source does not map those materials to individual 3175 / 3180 / 3185 sizes or components, and seal, shaft, impeller and casing construction details are likewise not independently documented in the reviewed extract.

Company-level capability

Ferrous and corrosion-resistant wet-end alloys, patterns and drawings held in house, inspection reports with tracking records, and fitness testing of finished parts — documented in the factory review.

Model-level confirmation

Which material, seal arrangement and construction options apply to a given size is confirmed during technical review against model-specific documents. State the stock or liquid data, temperature and any abrasive or corrosive contaminants in the enquiry; the material conversation starts from the service, not from the alloy list.

Do not infer per-size availability from the company-wide material list. Material, seal and construction options remain pending model-specific technical confirmation.

Parts, Reverse Engineering and Replacement Scope

A heavy-duty stock pump earns its keep over decades, which makes the parts path as commercially important as the new-pump path. YSM keeps its own drawings and patterns, and works in reverse from customer drawings or physical samples where the original documents are gone — the standard route for wet-end parts on installed pumps of this dimensional pattern. Scope is configurable from complete pumps down to individual replacement parts, and OEM / ODM programmes follow the same review discipline as everything else — see About YSM Pumps.

What the parts path does not include is a paper promise: no interchange claim is made on this page, and any fit or cross-reference conclusion is issued only after the model, dimensions, materials and revision are reviewed. For that review, a nameplate photo, an existing drawing or a sample carries more information than a model designation alone. Finished orders ship with inner cartons plus non-fumigation wooden export crates as the standard packaging mode.

Dimensions, Drawings and Curve Review

The full source record — Group, size, Figure, nozzle sizes, the D, X, Z, B, A and SP outline dimensions and per-size pump weights for all 39 sizes — is published in the coverage table above. What it deliberately is not is an installation document: the extract leaves the dimensional unit unstated, so approved model-specific drawings, unit-confirmed dimensions and performance curves are supplied after the model, size and duty are reviewed. Published weights support early rigging and baseplate planning; packed shipping weights with baseplate, motor and crate follow the order documents.

G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 FAQ

Are hydraulic performance curves published for this family?

No. The reviewed source provides dimensional and weight data — groups, nozzle sizes, outline dimensions, weights — not approved performance curves. Model-specific curves are supplied during review, and flow and head are confirmed against them, never against the dimensional table.

What do the S, M, L and XL groups mean?

They are dimensional groups organising the 39-size list. Within a group the source records closely related mounting values, so the group frames baseplate and installation discussion; it is not a performance class. Hydraulic behaviour is decided size by size on the model-specific curve.

How does a size code like 8×10-14E read?

Discharge × suction, then a size-class number: an 8×10-14E discharges through 8 in, takes suction at 10 in and sits in the family’s 14 class. A letter suffix (E) marks a variant recorded in the source. Confirm the exact designation during review — two neighbouring codes are not interchangeable selections.

What are Figure A and Figure B in the dimensional record?

Two outline patterns in the source table. Most sizes follow Figure A; the two Figure B sizes (14×14-16E and 16×18-22E) record an additional Z dimension against a different outline. The applicable outline and its values are confirmed on the model-specific drawing.

Can the published dimensional data be used for installation?

Only after the exact model, size and figure are confirmed and the drawing unit is verified — the source extract does not state the dimensional unit. Installation work uses the approved dimensional drawing, not the published web table.

Why are there no standalone G 3180 / 3185 pages?

Because their independent hydraulic, design and application differences are not documented well enough in the current source to support useful pages, and a thin page dressed up as a specification helps nobody. Enquiries naming 3180 or 3185 are reviewed through this series page with the same discipline.

What data does a paper-stock enquiry need?

The required flow and head with the operating range, stock type and consistency range, fibre description, solids and contaminants, entrained air, temperature, viscosity where relevant, and the suction arrangement. Stock consistency alone is not enough — the pulp and paper pump selection guide walks the full list.

What do the published weights cover?

The source records a per-size pump weight, from 368 lb at 3×6-12 to 2,913 lb at 16×18-22E. Use them for early rigging and baseplate planning at the published values; packed shipping weights with baseplate, motor and export crate follow the order documents.

Which wetted materials can be supplied?

The company-level capability runs from WCB and 316SS/CF8M through CD4MCu and Alloy 20/CN7M to Hastelloy B and C, Nickel, Titanium and a Zirconium alloy. The current source does not map materials to individual sizes, so per-model availability is confirmed during review — send the stock or liquid data rather than an alloy name.

Can you supply parts for an installed pump of this pattern?

Yes — through the reverse-engineering path: YSM keeps its own drawings and patterns and works from customer drawings or samples where originals are gone. A nameplate photo, drawing or sample carries the review; no fit or cross-reference conclusion is issued from a model designation alone.

Are OEM or branded (ODM) orders supported?

Yes — OEM and ODM programmes are part of the standard offer (see About YSM Pumps). Branding, documentation and packaging requirements enter the same technical-commercial review as the pump itself; state them in the enquiry rather than after order.

How is pricing confirmed?

Quotations are issued against a reviewed selection — model, size, materials, sealing, scope and quantity — not against a designation alone, which is why no public price list exists for the family. Send the duty data and requirements; the quotation then references the reviewed configuration it prices.

Request a G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 Quote

The form below carries the initial request; drawings, nameplate photos and any remaining data can follow during review. The technical review uses, where available: the duty point (normal, minimum and maximum flow with required head), the stock or liquid description (type, consistency range, fibre and solids data, entrained air, temperature, viscosity), suction conditions, material preferences, motor voltage and frequency, quantity, documentation needs, destination and target delivery date. For replacement work, add the existing model designation and size, a nameplate photo and any drawing or sample availability.

Open “Add technical details” to fill in what you know, and mark anything uncertain as unknown — a marked gap is reviewable, a silent one is not.

G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 Selection Decision Guide

Selection boundaries save both sides a review cycle: the fastest quotation starts on the right page. This family is the heavy-duty answer beside the ANSI B73.1 chemical families — crossing to another page is not a downgrade, it is a different answer to a different duty.

Start with G 3175 / 3180 / 3185 when

  • The duty is paper-stock line pumping or a high-volume heavy-duty process service.
  • The enquiry involves an installed pump of this dimensional pattern — parts, repair-or-replace or a like-for-like review.
  • S, M, L or XL group and size-range orientation is the question.

Review another page when

  • The duty is corrosive chemical transfer on the ANSI B73.1 pattern: review the G196 Series (open impeller) or the D Mark III Series (reverse vane).
  • The service is an auxiliary liquor, filtrate or chemical duty around the stock line: the pulp and paper pumps guide routes those to the ANSI families.
  • The stream is raw sewage, grit or thickened sludge: that is a solids-handling review, stated as such in the wastewater transfer guide.
